Spindle Top Farms offers a few select horses for sale each year. Please take a look at what we have to offer and feel free to call us with any questions you may have. Click on the names of the horses for additional information on each prospect as I list very detailed information about each, their bloodlines and bloodline history, estimate suitability, performance, attitude, etc. We are not a "horse dealer" and only represent quality horses we are proud of. We do not offer false statements about our horses and will be 100% up front with you on all that we know about the horse you are asking about.

***Im sorry, but we do not send our horses out of trial. You are more than welcome to come to our farm as much as you want to ride and try the horses, but no horses go off of the property until they are paid for in full. There are motels close by where you could stay for a few days and ride, handle and get to know the horse as much as you would like. Hotel Alsace is less than 3 miles from the farm where room can be booked, as well as The LandMark Inn, which is 2 miles away. Thank you for understanding.***

We will be happy to haul the horses to any other vet clinic than Alamo Area Vet Clinic (that is our clinic and would be considered a conflict of interest) for a pre purchase exam and Xrays. We recommend Dr. Ball at Bracken Equine Clinic, Dr. Martin at Retema Equine Hospital and Dr. Sheridan Sloan at Pipe Creek Animal Hospital which can be found by search engine. Xrays can be taken digital and sent to your vet for evaluation as well as consultation with the acting PPE veterinarian.

1997 , 16.2h Thoroughbred mare by Clever Leader out of Rinoso AM dam sire. Dark bay, big boned. She has had several foals for STF and all have been outstanding movers. Great mother, good to foal and easy to deal with. Currently in foal to Puerto D'Azur for a May 09 foal. This mare is a broodmare only, she is not sound as a riding horse.

1995, 16h Oldenburg mare by Grand Canyon (Graphit x Lombard) out of a TB mare by Dr. Reeds Kin and Isle of Greece. She was rated Premium on 8/16/95 with GOV and also approved RPSI. She is currently in foal to Swedish Warmblood stallion, Amorex for a July 2009 foal. This mare is a broodmare only and is not rideable.

2000 AHS Hanoverian mare. In full training, ready to show. Starting 3rd level work. 16.3h, dark bay, big body. Sired by Diamont out of Wallstreet by Waldorn/Gruenwald/Grande dam line. 100% sound, up to date on everything and in full training. Show ready. She is in the main stud book with the American Hanoverian association, was inspected with total score of 39. Was tested at UC Davis and is homozygous "E" = No red factor detected and his home for EE (will always have dark color foals). This is a really a talented mare with a lot ahead of her with more strength.

March 2003, 18h black gelding sired by Ronald (Haarlem, sired by Voltaire x Investment sired by Randal Z) out of Miss Clever Leader xx. Started as late 4 yr old due to his size and have taken it very slow to develop the muscles and tendon strength needed to keep him sound.. He is actually just a tad over 18h on the stick and big boned. This horse has incredible movements, huge trot, yet can sit on his hind. He has very elastic shoulder freedom and his mind is very trainable.

*There is nothing wrong with this gelding, he is sound, sane and handled. I just lack the time he will need for next year.

2006 registered BWP gelding. Lovely colt, placed 6th in the nation with the BWP. Super conformation and movement. Great pedigree. Will mature to 16.3-17+. Very large boy with a puppy dog attitude. Warning, you cant keep him off of you! He loves attention. See his page for more details. I would accept payments on this horse with 50% down and reasonable monthly installments.

Update 4/08 - We have raised Ghiri price recently. He is now 2 yrs old and is turning into a very impressive young boy. He is very well handled and will be a ease to start. He accepts the saddle and tack now and is going to be a fun one to put into the ring. After he finished he current (one of many) growth spurts, I will get new pictures of him. He is going to be a stunning horse when he finally matures!!!

Beautiful and elegant dark chestnut colt born May 17th. 2008. Tall with beautiful long legs. He is a lovely type, good shoulder and already a solid topline. We are happy with the cross and look forward to what this boy will mature to. He is absolutely stunning!!! Sired by Puerto D'Azur out of Miss Clever Leader xx (also the dam of Merlot). We expect Inspecktur to mature to 16.3ish hands and be a super dressage or jumping prospect. This cross was so impressive we have crossed Missy back again to Puerto for a May 2009 foal which is also available for sale in Utero.

16.2h Oldenburg Mare. Fera was originally bought as a broodmare, but after 3 yrs of failed pregnancies she is being offered as a riding horse. She was trained by Yvonne Barteau up north prior to becoming a broodmare. She would make someone a very solid 3rd level schoolmaster (leaning towards 4th). She had full digital Xrays done of her hocks and legs that were very good. Safe, sane and a true school master. Sired by Fascination (Furioso x Admiral (Abstaz)) out of a SWB mare by Mr. Everst (Nepal), she is papered/registered Oldenburg as well approved with SWANA. Check back soon for video.

Update 11/7/08 - Fera has been in work and is getting stronger. She is ready for an youth or a timd AA to teach someone what they need to know for their next dressage horse. We have reduced her price again to try to find her a good home.

She has wonderful uphill movement, very elevated and elastic. She is super affectionate, happy, very easy to work with, and tries hard to please. She is very feminine - but never marish - with a real desire to work.

Whisper is by the 1998 100 day test winner Puerto D'Azur who is known for his great temperament. His maternal grandsire is the sire of the Olypmic medalist Jus Du Pomme. Whisper is out of a TB mare that was a champion in AA/AO eventing and dressage. $12K

"Zailey" is bred to do any of the disciplines. Hunter, Jumpers, Equation or Eventing.
But...she is one of the nicest hunters that has come through my program. Big beautiful mare with natural balance, movement and style over fences.

She makes it look like a piece of cake. Never anything but pleasing her rider. Super fancy on the flat, the judge loved her at the show. Limited show miles due to owners health issues. Looking for a 3ft hunter or a 3'9" hunter? This mare can step up to big fences.
