Puerto D'Azur (aka - Blue) was born in Belgium and imported to North America in 1997. In 1998 he became the 100 Day Test Champion with scores of 132.73 in Dressage and 127.09 in jumping.

Puerto comes from many generations of approved and proven bloodlines.

His sired, Azur Despaultra was the Reserve Champion of the European Belgium testings but due to injury had a very short performance career.

Grand Veneur sired over 335 successful show jumpers and was the ''icon stallion'' for the Selle Francias breed.  Grand Veneur also sired over 75 approved sons before his death.

In that same sire line is , Jalisco B, known for his multi talented offspring ranked number 1 in the world breeding federation rankings in 1995 with 8 of his offspring competing at the highest international level. One of the best known offspring would be Quidam de Revel. Jalisco himself competed in the Seoul Olympics in 1988.

The grandmother Celia Despaultra was the dam to Qredo de Paulstra who is the sire to the renown stallion Quattro.

Qredo sired 14 approved stallions to pass on the desired traits of that bloodline.

On the dam side is proven sire Primo des Bruyères, who sired a string on top competitors such as Qunitus, Jus de Pomme (double gold in the olympics), Magister, Richbourg and others.

One mare of which, was bred to him 5 times to produce 5 successful grand prix horses each time.

On the last end of the dam line, is, Fantastique, a super producer and you will find that bloodline still running strong in many of the top horses in Europe today with over 1000 listed colts alone in the breeding BWP stud books.

Fantastique was known for gaits as well as jumping ability.

Yes, many years of proven blood and proven ability in our stallion and we are happy to offer him to the public.

After completing his performance requirements for his stallion approval, Blue stood at stud at Iowa and was in training under Bill Coester and lightly campaigned on the Florida circuit.

With very limited preparation for the rated ring, Blue scored in the mid 60s at 3rd level along with some of the top East Coast competition.  He then returned to Iowa and stood at stud at Private Treaty while containing his training under Bill where he was trained to I1 and was starting training his piaffe and passage lightly before he was injured and had to take time off to heal.

Blue came to Spindle Top Farm in 2006 and is being stood to outside mares with options of fresh and frozen semen.

His oldest offspring, born in 2000 are now mature and competing at different levels of rated events all over North America.  See his offspring page for pictures.  We find he crosses well with all different types of mares and produces offspring for the dressage and jumpers alike.  He is truly a multi talented stallion.
